OVERVIEW: REBUILDING ISSUES
While many have asked why the recovery process has not moved along faster - there can be no single cause in which to lay blame.  In an unprecedented catastrophe which decimated the complex infrastructure of our city, there is no historical reference from which to judge.  There are however, many rebuilding issues and processes that can be pointed out for improvement.  We can study and learn from the problems that occurred and share our lessons with others near and far.  Understanding that sharing your real world experiences and input are critical for our success, both short and long term, we offer this forum as a resource in the recovery process.

While our focus is on New Orleans East, the information shared will be of benefit to all.  With two-thirds of the city's developable land mass, New Orleans East was destined to be the future of growth in the city.  Now, it is even more critical that we fight for the levee protection and water management systems that will prevent the city of New Orleans from stagnation and a smaller foot print. New Orleans, New Orleans East and the entire gulf coast region will rebuild and shine even greater than before.  America, through its elected leadership, has said -  'make it so'.
